APPLICATION FORM - Community Attractions and Facility Sign

Applicant shall be a representative of the community or the municipality.

(Before completing this application, please make sure that you have read, understand and discussed your eligibility requirements with Alberta Traffic Supply (1-866-560-SIGN (7446)) relevant to your attraction category and location requirements. There is a $35 non-refundable administration fee to process this application. The application fee shall be in the form of a cheque, made payable to the “Government of Alberta” and submitted to Alberta Traffic Supply, 9015 - 14 Street NW, Edmonton AB, T6P 0C9).

This main attraction panel is for tourism-related operations only. Facilities and operations that serve ONLY the local community would not be deemed eligible for inclusion as a ‘tourism operation’. Some of the criteria specific when meeting eligibility are:

more than 15,000 with a majority of those visitations from visitors residing MORE than 80 kms away

more than 15,000 with a majority of those visitations from visitors residing LESS than 80 kms away

NB:

> (Verification of visitation numbers MUST be submitted with application if numbers exceed 15,000 annually. This verification may be in the form of customer database summary, guest books, special events hosted etc.)
> Applicants nominated for the main attraction panel MUST meet certain criteria, under The Tourism Eligibility Guidelines, as mentioned above.

3) The request to install up to 6 general facility symbols/tabs to the bottom of the sign.

(Note that the Police and Hospital tabs must be included below if these services exist within the community.)

To qualify for the “ALL SERVICES” tab a community must have, as a minimum, such services available as: hospital, police, gas, food, accommodation, propane and camping/trailer dump. A hospital must be listed with Alberta Health & Wellness to qualify for the hospital symbol.

NB:

> All attractions and facilities must be open to the general public, private facilities would be deemed ineligible as per the Tourism Attraction (Businesses and Facilities) guidelines.
